What is a Christian Science Practitioner?

In 1866 a unique series of life events led 19th century reformer Mary Baker Eddy to make a discovery that transformed her view of life, health and happiness. This God-centered perspective is based on the words and healing works of Jesus Christ. Eddy recorded her discovery of how to rely on the law of God-based Love that Jesus understood and successfully applied to every human challenge, in bestseller Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and named her discovery Christian Science. Science and Health along with the Bible provide guidance and direction in praying for one's self, family, community and world.

As a Christian Science practitioner, Kate helps others find, through the study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, a prayer-based solution that will satisify their desire for a clearer sense of life purpose, guidance in decision-making, health, financial and emotional wellness, harmony in relationships and most importantly a deeper and more meaningul sense of their relationship to God. Christian Science treatment is based on the Love-inspired ideas of which Jesus' life and works were the example and is as logical, provable, practical, and dependable today as it was over two thousand years ago.

Spiritual healing is available to everyone regardless of religious affiliation, gender, race, or faith. Kate takes calls by phone, email or in person around the clock. Emails are responded to within 12 hours if left after 8 PM.

Kate's charges are:

$35.00 per treatment/day. A discretionary reduction in fees (in accordance with the Article VIII, Section 22 of The Manual of The Mother Church) may be applied to all subsequent charges on an individual case, following initial treatment should immediate healing not be realized and the patient chooses to continue working with this office.

Phone and office/studio appointments are pro-rated at a rate of $100/hour in 15 minute increments, after the first 10 minutes (10 minute phone visits are offered at no charge with each treatment as needed). Phone/office/studio appointments and home/hospital/hospice visits should be scheduled in advance as often as possible. An exception is made where there is an urgent need. No one will be denied treatment for financial reasons. Kate reserves the discretionary right to reduce charges as needed.

A portion of all earnings are donated to a non-profit charitable organization, Adventure Unlimited, which serves young Christian Scientists and their friends, by providing "inspiring recreational, social, educational, and service activities...in an atmosphere conducive to the recognition of the practicality and effectiveness of Christian Science." Kate has been involved with this organization on a local and national level since her early teens and am currently serving on their National Alumni Board and for over two decades has provided Christian Science practitioner services to its campers and staff each summer without charge.
